Senior Desktop Systems Support Engineer

Salary 100-120K+15% Bonus

The Desktop Engineering Team manages the design, implementation and support of desktop environment, which includes Windows XP workstations, laptops and Wyse thin client devices. Responsibilities include defining hardware standards, engineering and securing the standard desktop platform, architecture and design of our Software Distribution infrastructure, product and system lifecycle management, end point protection security suite and 3rd level operational support.

This position primarily assists with the overall design, plan, delivery and maintenance of technical projects and initiatives. The focus of this position is the overall delivery of technology solutions.

Position Qualifications
The candidate should have the following primary skills:
2- 3 years of SCCM knowledge around reporting and software deployments. Must show the ability to troubleshoot the software package, client and server.
Extensive knowledge and/or prior experience with standard software package and patch deployment methodologies, under standard change control processes within mid-to-large size corporations.
Tier 3 support with in-depth knowledge of desktop/application troubleshooting
Displays an understanding of debugging tools.
Knowledge of client logs and events.
An understanding of WINS, DNS, DHCP, and TCPIP and commands.
Troubleshooting group policy.
Strong knowledge of the Windows Operating System.
Knowledge of desktop maintenance tools.
Issues are escalated to Desktop Engineering to resolve across physical desktops, virtual machines, etc.
GPO management - (troubleshoot and modify existing policy)
Antivirus and Data Loss Prevention client administrative knowledge - SEPM, McAfee Total Protection, Sophos Enterprise or equivalent

Preferred knowledge in the following areas (but not required):
Some Scripting knowledge (VBScript or other language)
Familiarity with packaging (App-V, Install Shield AdminStudio, Wise, ThinApp)
Some general knowledge of VDI - Citrix Xen Desktop or VMware View
SQL knowledge as it pertains to reporting.


Job Description

Must possess a minimum of 2 years' experience (direct experience, including best practices) in Engineering, including knowledge of computer/network systems infrastructure requirements and standards
Interface with client security teams to assist in effective remediation through controlled and organized incident management & response.
Identify research, diagnose and escalate (as needed) production problems such as defects, questionable functions, errors, and inconsistencies in systems functions, outputs, and content.
Perform upgrades / maintenance activities as well as troubleshoot system issues by providing 3rd level support.
Proven ability to work effectively in a team setting as well as independently with minimal error and guidance
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of associates in the organization
Bachelors degree in a related field or equivalent experience is preferred
Microsoft Certified System Engineer certification preferred
Financial services experience strongly preferred

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
