Full Time On-Site Medical Assistant (Front Office and Clinical Support) Days:
Monday, Tuesday, Friday in Ramsey, NJ and Thursday in Monroe, NY Locations:
Ramsey, New Jersey and Monroe, New York, Podiatric Surgery Clinical Sites Our practice is a patient focused, independent medical office in search of a dedicated and skilled hybrid medical assistant to support two outpatient Podiatric clinical sites.
Primary location is Ramsey New Jersey, with once per week travel to Monroe, New York as needed to provide front desk or clinical support.
As a cohesive member of the Podiatric clinical team, the ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, a warm caring attitude and the ability to work well as a team.
The work environment is fast paced and busy with multiple interruptions so the individual must be able to multi-task while displaying a calm professional attitude, as well as, demonstrate excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Front Desk
Responsibilities:
Greets patients visiting the site, answering any questions they may have and helping them fill out the required forms.
Acquires and enters demographic and insurance information into the electronic medical record.
Answers phone calls, creates appointments, directs the calls as required and handling all queries.
Assists patients with scheduling follow up imaging and/or testing appointments.
Check out duties including collection of copay and balances as well as balancing cash drawer at the end of the day as well as miscellaneous duties related to the handling of confidential medical records.
Answers emails and other electronic messages as required.
Medical Assistant Clinical
Responsibilities:
Sets up examination/consultation/treatment rooms at the start of each day; keep rooms stocked with requisitions, forms, medications, medical supplies, etc.
Ensures the corresponding physician specific supplies and paperwork are readily available in rooms.
Reviews physician's schedule prior to office hours and obtain x-rays results and labs according to protocol for office hours.
Cleans and restocks examination/consultation/treatment rooms in-between patients and at the end of each physician's session.
Escorts patients/guardians into examination/consultation/treatment rooms and assists patients with examination clothing.
Ensures patient has completed all paperwork and enters data into the EHR system.
Obtains vital signs and assists physician in retrieving patient medical history, document basic medical history.
Assists physician in managing patients flow.
Completes test requisitions as needed and instructs patients/guardians on the requisitions.
Assists with patient education and supplies parents/guardians with appropriate patient education materials.
Completes and provides patients and/or parents/guardians with appropriate letters, prescriptions, and forms as instructed by the physician, nurse practitioner or nurse during the time of service.
Sets up patients and assists physicians with dressings, casting, injections and minor in-office procedures.
Removal and application of casts, splints and braces at the direction of physician.
Removes sutures/staples at the direction of physician.
Calls for orthotic / bracing needs/assistance.
Covers clinical team members and/or travels other sites as needed.
Assists in training new staff.
Requirements:
Registered or Certified Medical Assistants, certification preferred but not necessary.
We will provide paid training.
High School Diploma required.
College education or trade school preferred.
Casting and brace/Orthopedic soft goods training a plus.

Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures within the podiatric or medical field preferred.
Familiar with Electronic medical record systems.
Ability to assist patients, and to stand for extended periods.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Professional, warm, and compassionate disposition.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
